The Qi45 features an ultra-bright red display with 280 LEDs. The device displays three high-resolution meter modes: standard Bar Graph display or ExpertMeter and SpecDisplay for more advanced users. ExpertMeter tracks and displays up to 8 radar signals simultaneously, and SpecDisplay provides actual numeric frequency for any radar signal.

Auto-Sensitivity Mode
Passport’s AutoSensitivity mode provides long-range warning, with minimum false alarms. In this mode, Passport�s internal computer continuously analyzes all incoming signals and intelligently adjusts the sensitivity circuits.

I bought this radar detector for my husband because I knew it was something he wanted. When I saw the price on it I couldn’t believe I was going to spend that much, but my husband is on the road all the time and he said it is absolutely amazing. He’ll be driving down the freeway and the radar detector will make a beep and he’ll look around and not see anything wondering if it made a mistake. Sure enough a couple miles down the road he will see a trooper. The range is fantastic!

Although I’ve owned this unit for just 6 weeks, I’ve traveled some 5,000 miles with this on board. My previous experience with radar detectors was the lesser-brands, so this was a big jump in performance. The unit is fully programmable, so the first thing to do is disable X band which is used in very few places in the United States. The unit comes with Escort’s TSR software, which filters out K-band speed sensors along some roadways. I tried this out and it works quite well. The best part about the Redline is range. I drive mostly in the open desert, and I have (so far) measured detection up to 3.3 miles. It has exceptional off-axis detection, easily picks up signals from 90 degree angles up to (my experience) a half mile.

The Redline has auto-mute, a must for noisy and long lasting alerts. The alert tone is also more pleasant that most other radar detectors. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for interstate travel.
